<br /> <br /> STAFF REPORT <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Mayor Fischer and Members of the City Council <br /> <br />FROM: Eric Seaburg, P.E., City Engineer <br /> <br />DATE: January 24, 2024 <br /> <br />RE: Approve Plans & Authorize Bidding for 2024 Street Improvement Project <br /> City Project Nos. 2024-PW42 and 2024-PW43 <br /> <br />ACTION TO BE CONSIDERED: <br />Motion to approve plans and specifications and ordering advertisement for bids for street <br />improvements. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The following roadways are included in the City’s 10-year Capital Improvement Plan and 15-Year <br />Pavement Management Plan as 2024 projects: <br /> <br />• Jackson Street Reconstruction, City Project No. 2024-PW42 <br />o Little Canada Road to 520’ South <br /> <br />• Country Drive Rehabilitation, City Project No. 2024-PW43 <br />o South Owasso Blvd to Railroad Tracks <br /> <br />APPROVE PLANS & AUTHORIZE BIDDING: <br />Project staff has been working for many months to develop the project, coordinate with impacted <br />residents and property owners, and prepare final plans for bidding. The scope of improvements <br />includes: <br /> <br />• Full roadway reconstruction (Jackson Street) <br />o Curb and gutter installation <br />o Minor storm sewer improvements <br />o Minor watermain and sanitary sewer improvements <br /> <br />• Mill and overlay rehabilitation (Country Drive) <br />o Ditching cleaning and regarding <br />o Spot curb and gutter replacement <br />o Minor storm sewer improvements <br />o Minor watermain and sanitary sewer improvements <br /> <br />• MNNR Railroad Ditch Cleaning (Separate Drainage Project) <br />o Excavate and remove sediment that is blocking drainage <br />
