<br />3 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />PARK SYSTEM MASTER PLAN <br />Within the Vision Statement that was identified in the Park System Master Plan, is Little Canada’s <br />park system will support the principles of active living and recognizes that parks, recreation, and <br />trails are key components of an active and healthy lifestyle. (p. 37 - 2018 Park System Master Plan). <br />Chapter four of the Park System Master Plan identifies goals, policies, and recommendations to assist <br />in guiding the implementation of projects. Constructing the trail gap of the Thunder Bay/Westwinds <br />trail has been identified in the plan in various locations and relates to the goal identified within <br />subsection 1.1 of the Trails section. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />This section of trail was also identified in the Park System Master Plan on Figure 4.1 – Trails and <br />Sidewalks Priority Map as a proposed trail (p.46) and included in the recent update of the City Trail <br />and Sidewalk map that was approved at the October 11, 2023, City Council meeting (attached). <br /> <br />Additionally, attached is the Thunder Bay & Westwinds Park section of the Park System Master Plan <br />for overall context on the park and amenities within the park. <br /> <br />STRATEGIC PLAN INITIATIVE: <br />Maximizing our Assets to Catalyze Development Strategic Initiative <br />• Action Item: Identify gaps and update pedestrian trail/sidewalk implementation plan <br />o Key outcome indicator – complete Thunder Bay/Westwind Trail <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />(Parcels owned by NSP.
