MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
APRIL 10, 2024
APPROVE NO PARKING ON WOODLYNN AVENUE
The Public Works Director stated that Woodlynn Avenue was reconstructed in 2022 with ribbon curb
and cars have been parking on the hill. He stated that creates difficulties with plowing in the winter.
He noted that a business in that area has been utilizing the street for parking, often with car hauling
vehicles and therefore it is creating a safety issue and the Council is asked to consider no parking along
that roadway.
Mayor Fischer commented that each of those businesses has adequate space for parking within their
own site and therefore the parking along the street is unsafe and will cause undue wear on the road.
The Public Works Director confirmed that residents and businesses were notified of this proposed
action and no complaints were received about the potential no parking. He commented that he does
often receive complaints about people parking on the street.
T. Miller introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2024-4-43 — APPRO VING NO PARKING ON BOTH SIDES OF
WOODLYNNA VENUE FROM THE RAILROAD TRACKS EAST TO THE END OF THE
STREET
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Kwapick.
Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
APPROVE HIRE OF PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR
The City Clerk stated that 44 applications were received, and three rounds of interviews were
completed. She stated that three finalists completed final interviews the previous day and the City has
offered the position to candidate Steve Anderson who is currently a Recreation Supervisor for the City
of Roseville and is also a member of the Little Canada Fire Department. She stated that he is set to
begin with the City on April 30tn
D. Miller commented that he was part of the final interview, and the three candidates were great. He
noted that each candidate would have done a great job and believed that Mr. Anderson would bring a
great energy.
Mayor Fischer commented that he was also a part of that final interview and also agreed that any of the
candidates would do a great job, but Mr. Anderson ranked higher than the others in a few key areas.
He thanked staff for a staff and efficient process to go through the applications and potential
candidates.
D. Miller introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOL UTION NO. 2024-4-44 — APPROVING THE HIRE OF NEW PARKS AND
RECREATION DIRECTOR
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mayor Fischer.
Ayes (5).
