Planning Commission
May 29, 2009
Page Two
Utility Plan
1. A clean out will be required on the sanitary sewer service at the 45-degree
bend locations.
Drainage Calculations
1. Documentation should be provided for the proposed infiltration rates that are
used. The infiltration area should be capable of infiltrating the required
volume within 48 hours.
2. The calculations should be updated to match the storm sewer elevations on
the Utility Plan sheet.
3. The time of concentrations for Subcatchment 2S, 3S, and 4S should be
seven (7) minutes.
4. The proposed impervious area noted under Pond 3P does not match the
Proposed Drainage Area sheet provided. This should be reviewed and
corrected. Pond 3P also allows for infiltration over the surface areas noted
for storage. Infiltration will not occur with in the storm structures and should
be removed.
Miscellaneous
1. A detail sheet will need to be included in the final plan for the sanitary sewer,
storm sewer, and water construction. This should include the type of inlet
protection proposed for the catch basins.
Please contact me if you have any questions regarding the above information at (763)
780-0450 ext. 13.
Sincerely,
ELFERING & ASSOCIATES

Lee Elfering, P.E.
City Engineer
cc: Bill Dircks, Public Works Director
Ltr-060209-PC
10062 Flanders Court NE, Blaine, MN 55449 -Phone: (763) 780-0450 -Fax: (763) 780-0452
