MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JUNE 10, 2009
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOL UTION NO. 2009-6-127 - CALLING A WORKSHOP
MEETING WITH THE LITTLE CANADA FIRE DEPARTMENT
FOR MONDAY, JUNE 22, 2009 AT 6:00 P.M.
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour.
Ayes (4).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
D,ESOTO & Montour reported that the Desoto Street/Costa Lane mill and overlay
COSTA LANE project was completed today, and these streets look good.
MILL &
OVERLAY
PROJF,CT
CANADIAN The Council reviewed the request of Pat Johnson for an extension to
WOODS - file for Final Plat approval for the Canadian Woods project. Blesener indicated
that this is his position for the Richie Place Preliminary Plat as well,
although approvals have lapsed for that plat.
Keis asked why Mr. Johnson has not completed the platting process. The
City Administrator noted that once a Final Plat is processed and recorded,
the lots become lots of record and are taxed accordingly. At that point
street and utility improvements are constructed, and lots sold to recover
costs. Given the current economic downturn, developers have not been
investing in preparing additional lots.
McGraw questioned the number of extensions that the City could end up
granting in these situations. He noted that the City has moved to new
4
