MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JUNI;10, 2009
event to counter the impact of prepayments. The Administrator noted that
the impact is that property owners are paying more interest costs.
The Administrator felt that it was at the City's discretion whether or not to
allow prepayments, and indicated that the criteria in this case is that the
Canabury Condo and Fleur Koyale project financing is low enough to
allow for the financing through County dollars and an internal City loan.
The Canabury Square project, if it proceeds, will be a much more costly
project that will have to be bonded for. Therefore, prepayments would not
be allowed so that the revenue stream needed to make bond payments is
protected.
Blesener agreed with Staff's position, and suggested that, if possible, any
HIA ordinances include both options at the City's discretion.
The Administrator noted that a public hearing will have to be called to
amend die Canabury Condo and Fleur Royale HIA ordinances.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2009-6-132 - CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING
FOR WEDNESDAY, JULY 8, 2009 TO CONSIDER AMENDING THE
CANAB URY CONDOMINIUM AND FLEUR ROYALS HIA
ORDINANCES TO ALLOW FOR THE PREPAYMENT OF HIA FEES
"fhe foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw.
Ayes (4).
Nays (0).
