MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 22, 2009 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McCraw. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />STORM WATER Blesener opened the Public Hearing to review the City's Storm Water <br />POLLUTION Pollution Prevention Prograni acid discuss the City's progress in meeting <br />PREVENTION National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) requirements. <br />PRO(=RAM <br />The Public Works Superintendent reviewed in detail the 2008 Annual <br />Report for Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems which outlines the <br />City's efforts in meeting standards for elimination of the discharge of <br />pollutants into the storm water system. These efforts include inspection of <br />outfalls, ponds, and pollution control devices; the dredging of the <br />Jackson/Demont wetland; the purchase of a regenerative air sweeper and <br />an increase in the City's sweeping activities; a decrease in the amount of <br />salt usage; Savage Lake water quality study; and adoption of a Surface <br />Water Management Plan. <br />There was no one present from the general public wishing to comment on <br />the City's Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program. <br />Upon motion by McGraw, seconded by Montour, the public hearing was <br />closed. <br />The Superintendent noted that the Public Hearing this evening is for the <br />purpose of obtaining the public's comments on the Program.
