MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JUNE 22, 2009
if the variance is to be temporary, then a timeline be approved noting the
length of the variance. The Attorney also suggested that details such as
landscape plan, surety bonds, size and location of plantings be spelled out.
Montour asked if a precedent would be set under the temporary variance
scenario. The City Attorney replied that a precedent would be set. Again,
the standards that exist that warrant granting the variance would have to be
spelled out.
The City Administrator suggested that another option may be to approve a
special purpose fence. Blesener suggested that action be tabled on this
variance request to allow the Administrator to research the special purpose
fence option. The Administrator indicated that he would meet with the
applicant on this option and try to work out the details relative to fence
location (perhaps moving it from the property line), plantings,
participation by the neighbor, etc.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption
RESOL UTION NO. 2009-6-141-TABLING ACTION ON THE
REQUEST OF AFROZ KHAN FOR A VARIANCE TO EXCEED THE
MAXIMUM FENCE HEIGHT ALLOWED INA FRONT YARD AT
2837/2849 CENTERVILLE ROAD UNTIL THE JULY 8, 2009
COUNCIL MEETING
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Boss.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0).
