<br /> <br /> STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Mayor Fischer and Members of the City Council <br /> <br />FROM: Chris Heineman, City Administrator <br /> Laura Linehan, Community Relations Manager <br /> <br />DATE: July 10, 2024 <br /> <br />RE: City Attorney RFP for Civil Legal Services Update <br /> <br />ACTIONS TO BE CONSIDERED: <br />Staff is providing an update on the City Attorney RFP for Civil Legal Services RFP. <br />Additionally, staff requests council direction regarding the upcoming City Attorney Civil Legal <br />Services interview process. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On June 12, the City Council approved the issuance of a request for proposals (RFP) for City <br />Attorney Civil Legal Services. On June 14, staff released the RFP through direct solicitation to <br />twelve legal firms, published on the city website, and published in the legal notices in the <br />Pioneer Press. <br /> <br />As a reminder, the proposed RFP schedule is outlined below. <br /> <br />RFP Issue Date: June 14, 2024 <br />Deadline for questions: 3:30 p.m., June 28 <br />Proposals Due: 3:30 p.m., July 8 <br />Interviews: July 15-17 <br />Council Meeting Date of Award: July 24 <br /> <br />Questions were due on June 28, with only one question received. The response was prepared and <br />provided to all potential applicants accordingly on July 1. Proposals are due on July 8. Staff will <br />review all proposals and provide a verbal update at the City Council Workshop on July 10 with <br />the number of responses and potential next steps. <br /> <br />Additionally, at the June 12 City Council Meeting, the Council's involvement in the interview <br />process was discussed. In the June 12 staff report, staff proposed a subcommittee consisting of <br />two City Council members to assist in vetting the initial proposals. The City Administrator <br />recommended that the entire City Council participate in the final interview process. <br />
