<br />CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A GRANT AND AGREEMENT FROM RAMSEY <br />COUNTY FUNDED BY THE RAMSEY COUNTY COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC <br />DEVELOPMENT FOR THE 2024 CRITICAL CORRIDORS COMMERCIAL <br />CORRIDOR INITIATIVE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Little Canada is the official governing body of the <br />City of Little Canada; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Critical Corridors programs were created in 2022 to enact three key strategies <br />from the Economic Competitiveness & Inclusion Plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County’s Commercial Corridor Initiative program, funded through the <br />Housing Redevelopment Authority levy, strengthens suburban small business districts by <br />supporting thriving main streets and investing in pathways to entrepreneurship for racially and <br />ethnically diverse communities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, On April 2, 2024, the City of Little Canada submitted a grant application to <br />Ramsey County entitled Foundations of Belonging: Building Community Spirit and Connection <br />in Little Canada; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County reviewed the applications and awarded the City of Little Canada <br />$31,500 for the Foundations of Belonging: Building Community Spirit and Connection in Little <br />Canada project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The City of Little Canada is not required to contribute a matching amount to secure <br />the grant award; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE <br />CANADA, MINNESOTA, THAT; <br /> <br />1. The City Council hereby authorizes the city accept the grant funds and enter into and <br />execute an agreement between Ramsey County and the City of Little Canada regarding <br />the 2024 Critical Corridors Commercial Corridor initiative. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council this 24th day of July 2024. <br /> <br /> <br /> _______________________ <br /> Thomas Fischer, Mayor <br /> <br />Attest: <br /> <br />___________________________________ <br />Christopher Heineman, City Administrator
