He reviewed the proposed project schedule
Mayor Fischer recognized that this has been a long journey and thanked staff for their work on this
project as it has gained traction in the past year or so. He stated that this is a project that looks to
everyone's interest in solving a problem. He recognized that property owners in the area will be
consulted. He asked if addressing the problem on the west side, without doing anything on the east
would push the problem to the east. The City Engineer commented that the modeling does include the
Centerville Road intersection as well, recognizing that all the intersections in that corridor work
together.
Kwapick referenced the proposed newly constructed Country Drive and asked if there would be a
pedestrian trail on the west side. The City Engineer commented that Little Canada Road would have a
trail on both sides. He stated that Country Drive would have a sidewalk on the west side, with a trail
that would go through an underpass to the Waterworks trail.
Gutierrez asked where pedestrians would cross to get from the west side of Country Drive to the east.
The City Engineer commented that staff will review the options to provide the shortest connection
from one side to the other, noting that switchback options will be reviewed as well. D. Miller
commented that there is currently a dirt trail that could also be connected.
Mayor Fischer thanked staff for the update.
3
