MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />JULY 249 2024 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the City Council of Little Canada, <br />Minnesota was convened on the 24th day of July 2024 in the Council Chambers of the City Center <br />located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Tom Fischer called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of the City <br />Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Fischer, Council Members T. Miller, Kwapick, Gutierrez and D. Miller. <br />Absent: None. <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Chris Heineman, Community Relations Manager Lauran <br />Linehan, City Clerk/HR Manager Heidi Heller, and Finance Director Sam Magureanu <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />T. Miller introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2024-7-86 — APPROVING THE MINUTES OF THE JULY 10, 2024 <br />WORKSHOP AND THE JULY 10, 2024 REGULAR MEETINGS AS SUBMITTED <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by D. Miller. <br />Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />The Community Relations Manager announced that applications for the Community Inclusions Team <br />are still being accepted and the next meeting will be held on August 20' <br />The City Clerk announced that the Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, August 13th and absentee <br />voting is open now. Candidate filing is open July 3 1 " through August 13th at City Hall or the Ramsey <br />County Elections Office. <br />Mayor Fischer commented that Canadian Days will be August 2nd through August 4th and welcomed <br />those inside and outside the community to attend. <br />2024 NIGHT TO UNITE PROCLAMATION <br />Mayor Fischer read aloud the 2024 Night to Unite Proclamation. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />Allan Moore, 849 Westwind Drive, referenced the funding the City is going to receive from the <br />County through its critical corridors initiative and hoped the City would work to become more <br />walkable with more diverse businesses. He stated that parking minimum requirements should be <br />removed and there should be more focus on walkability and public transit. He urged the City to reject <br />the general suburban theme and instead focus on mixed use development and public transit. <br />Roger Stanke, business owner of 209 Ryan Drive and a Little Canada resident, commented that for the <br />past 47 years he has never had an issue with water at his business.
