City of Little Canada – Solar on City Hall - RFP Page 3 <br /> <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS <br /> <br />II. OBJECTIVE <br />The City of Little Canada, hereinafter referred to as “the city” is soliciting competitive <br />sealed proposals from qualified contractors to design a system, apply for on behalf of the <br />city to the Solar on Public Buildings grant, and build a system on the City of Little <br />Canada City Hall building and provide power to the city facility. <br /> <br />The city is requesting proposals from qualified firms, partnerships, corporations, <br />associations or professional organizations to provide turn-key solar photovoltaics (PV) <br />services. Responses shall be submitted no later than 4:30 p.m. on August 29, 2024. Late <br />responses will not be considered. Each response shall be treated as confidential until this <br />deadline, after which each response shall become public. <br /> <br />In order to be considered, qualified firms must also guarantee to work with the city to <br />submit a Solar on Public Buildings grant application on behalf of the city and meet all <br />requirements of an installer as outlined. The due date for the Solar on Public Buildings <br />grant application is September 23 at 5:00 PM. <br /> <br />Please note: the completion of this project is contingent on the City of Little Canada <br />receiving the Solar on Public Buildings grant. If the city does not receive state funds <br />to support the project, the project will not be awarded. <br /> <br />Proposers shall submit pricing for the following: <br />• City Hall – 515 Little Canada Road. E <br /> <br />III. OVERVIEW <br />The City of Little Canada is seeking proposals from interested firms that are capable of <br />designing, engineering, completing a Solar on Public Buildings state grant application, <br />and installing a solar PV project for the City of Little Canada City Hall Building. <br /> <br />The city believes on-site PV power generation will provide a long-term financial benefit <br />by reducing energy costs through the reduction of peak demand loads and daily energy <br />consumption at the sites. The program will provide high-quality power with minimal <br />environmental impact. Through on-site PV solar generation, the city hopes to: <br /> <br />• Reap the financial benefits of more affordable electricity at minimal cost. <br />• Reduce environmental impact. <br />• Provide an example of successful renewable energy generation and showcase the <br />city as a leader in the development of renewable energy sources. <br /> <br />Through this RFP process, the city intends to select only one proposer for the solar <br />project and is looking for the “best value” proposal based on the selection criteria stated <br />within this RFP. Additionally, the city is looking for the proposer to complete the Solar <br />on Public Buildings grant application on behalf of the city.
