`
`./ April 4, 1977
Planning Commission
City of Little Cgn.ada
Members of the Commission:
My name is Eleanor Rydel.
My family and I have lived at
78 W. Demont Avenue here in Little Canad,* since May 1, 1959•
The legal description of our property is: Bemis Heights Addition,
Block 1, Lots 16, 17, 18, and 19.
Our home would be seriously and adversely affected by the
proposed expansion of the Terrace Heights trailer park. We are
totally opposed to such an expansion.
Let me begin by reminding the Commission that a hearing
was held in April of 1972--the last time Terrace Heights asked
for an expansion. I attended that hearing. The Commission, at
that time, clearly expressed itself as reluctant to grant per-
mission for that expansion. It was, neverthelesx, granted, but
the Commission stated that it was the last expansion it would
allow the trailer park to make. The Commission also stipulated
that a 200 foot buffer zone must be left between our property
and the nearest trail6r9 south of us; *and that Terrace Heights
was to desist from its practice of.,storing empty trailers in
the open field adjacent to our home.
These -declarations and stipulations were a source of great
relief to us at that time, and a critical factor in important
decisions we were later confronted with. On the strength of the
Commission's statements and our reliance on them, we have spent
thousands of dollars to repair, remodel, and improve our home.
Just three days ago we contracted for several thousand • dollars in
** This "buffer zone" would be the site of the proposed expansion.
Clerks exhibit no. 1
meeting-4-13-77 `-
9
