CLERKtS ATTACHMENT N0. U2*54
November 29, 1978 Meeting
HOME AND PROPERTY OWNERS
GERVAIS SHORES ADDITION
The following constitutes a Position Paper by the home and
property owners of Gervais Shores Addition.
Position Statement regarding proposed public improvement 78-16
(Dianna Lane from County Road B-2 to North end), i.e., watermain and
street restoration at estimated cost of $249,280 with cost to include
other listed projects per public hearing statement notice.
Project Identification, WTRMN 78-16, Aud. No. 1838, D/P No. 1838.
This proposal is to be presented by the Little Canada City Council
at Little Canada School, 400 Eli Road, at 7:30 PM on November 29, 1978.
We, the property owners of Gervais Shores Addition, are opposed
to the proposed improvement to our properties, namely, the placement of
a watermain with resultant damage to the existing hard surface roadway
and necessary restoration of that roadway.
The proposed project is first of all untimely and thus would
constitute needless and significant cost to both the city of Little Canada
and to the affected property owners. In these times of inflation and
increasing cost, it seems inappropriate to tear up and then restore the
roadway. If a watermain were contemplated, this should have been placed
prior to the road construction.
Secondly, the residents of Dianna Lane have independently provided
for their water needs in the absence of that service by the City of Little
Canada. This provision was at considerable expense to each of the property
owners. The current water supplies meet all criteria for health and other
