St. Cloud, Minnesota 56301 251-7731 314 Oak St. Sauk Centre, Minnesota 5978 352-3664 April 12, 1978 We are submitting the tabulation of bids received for the watermain improvements 76-2, 77-1,2,3,4, and part of 77-6. We call your attention to the fact that it was necessary to issue an addendum after the plans had been sent to the bidders asking for an alternate bid for an outside drop manhole required by the Metro Waste Control Commission. By using the base bid and ignoring the alternate have a low bid of $468,434.50. By using the alternate bid we have a mow bid by a second contractor of $475,203.36. In other words, we have two bidders both of whom could be considered low bids depending on which alternate is chosen. The choice is limited, however, because as of this time, the Metro Sewer Board is requiring an outside drop manhole. We have, however, been informed through attornies that the issue will have to be resolved by a court in the event that a contract is awarded to either of the bidders.
