Concrete shall be of one -course construction, <br />8 inches thick unless otherwise indicated, and of the <br />dimensions shown on the drawings. <br />5. Concrete around steel posts shall be tamped or vibrated. <br />Attach steel posts securely to footings by approved <br />method. <br />6. Foundation walls. Foundation walls shall be 8" x 8" x 16" <br />standard precast concrete block. Reinforce with # 4 bars <br />at 16" 0. C, Fill concrete block core at reinforcing <br />with concrete fill. The reinforcing bars shall tie slab <br />and foundation wall together by extending into foundation <br />wall 3' - 0" and into slab 2' - 0". <br />r. Concrete slab and steps: <br />1. S ubgrade. Compact subprade thoroughly by tamping and <br />trim to required shape. Compact gravel base fill as <br />specified. <br />2. Forms. build forms so as to permit their removal from <br />exposed surfaces without damage to the green concrete. <br />3. Reinforcing. Reinforce concrete slab with 6 x 6 7#:10/10 <br />wire mesh fabric. Reinforce steps with #3 bars 8" 0. C... <br />each way. Extend bars into concrete slab min 3' - O". <br />Add fi 4 bars top and bottom continuous. <br />4. Finish. Unless otherwise indicated, round edges to a <br />inch radius. Steps and slab shall have a light broom . <br />finish. <br />2.04 WOOD: <br />A. Beams: <br />Beams shall be 54" x 15" laminated beams by Structural Wood <br />Corporation or equal. Beams shall be for exterior exposure <br />with adhesives meeting requirements for wet condition of service. <br />Beams shall meet the following design criteria: <br />Bending stress: 2400 psi <br />Shear stress: 165 psi <br />i::odulus of elasticity:1,800,000 psi <br />Deflection limitation:1/180th of span for total load <br />Beams shall be designed for a total load of not less <br />than 45 PSF. <br />B . Rafters: <br />Rafters_(and bracing beams) shall be Rat" x 12" laminated <br />beams by Structural Wood Corporation or equal. All rafters <br />and beams shall meet all of the above design criteria. <br />C. Decking: <br />necking shall be 1 x 15" -panel decking by Boise -Cascade <br />available throuEh Structural `.. ood Corporation or an approved <br />equal. Decking shall be designed for a total load of not <br />less than 45 PSF. <br />
