00 West Highway 96 <br />Paul, Minnesota 55112 <br />464-3301 <br />City Council <br />City of Little Canada <br />515 East Little Canada Rd. <br />St. Paul, MN 55117 <br />RE: Ryan Industrial Park <br />Gentlemen: <br />16 Fourth Avenue S.E. <br />St. Cloud, Minnesota 56301 <br />251-7751 <br />314 Oak St. <br />Sauk Centre, Minnesota 56378 <br />3523664 <br />June 13, 1978 <br />In accordance with the minutes of the Planning Commission, <br />this letter is written to point out that a feasibility study of <br />the railroad crossing proposed at Spruce St. is a study that <br />would also involve the attorney. <br />As you know, the City must appear before the Public Service <br />Commission and present the proposed plan. <br />In the case of the Country Drive crossing, we had to move <br />the crossing several hundred feet in order to meet the sight <br />distance requirements. <br />In the present case of Spruce St., we would be unable to move <br />it even a few feet because of existing improvements. <br />Secondly, there appears to be a severe grade problem because <br />of a spur track recently built on the north side of the main line <br />and about 3 feet lower. <br />Finally, if we are to pursue <br />feasibility study, we should also <br />on the north end of Spruce St. <br />this crossing with a formal <br />involve the property owners <br />There are existing easements covering water and sewer across the <br />railroad which would restrict building on Lot 1, Block 2 and could <br />be used to construct the crossing. <br />^1,ERK'S EXHIBIT N0, ()1 45 <br />vvETING-6-14-78 <br />fours truly, <br />n <br />I I L f(ER W.
