As an initial
step, Bolton & Menk has provided five preliminary site plan scenarios utilizing this site. At the
September 7, 2023, Parks & Recreation Commission meeting, staff presented some preliminary
designs of what the potential area could look like for a community building.
Overall the Commission was supportive of the purchase of the property for the potential use of a
community building. They also had a preference for a community building closer to the new play
node area, which would result in moving the existing tennis/pickleball courts to an alternate
location within the park. One of the benefits of moving the existing courts would be to spread out
the activities in the park
CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP
This item was presented at the September 27, 2023, City Council Workshop. The City Council
reviewed the concept plans and provided comments on preferred options. At the conclusion of
the workshop, City Council members directed staff to continue to pursue the purchase of the
parcels at 2884 and 2886 Centerville Road.
