MINUTES
PARKS & REC COMMISSION
JANUARY 4, 2024
3
Commissioner DeLong Miller commented that she will be traveling to Arizona and will check
out some of the parks there.
Commissioner Schletty stated that he took his kids to Pioneer Park during the holiday break and
there were a lot of other kids there as well. He was excited to see the skating rinks flooded
recently and hoped to see them getting used soon.
Chair Horwath commented that it was exciting to see the rink flooding occur. He commented
that the trails have been getting a lot of use and asked that parks maintenance staff keep the trails
clear when the snow eventually comes. He asked if there had been any movement on the Labore
Road sidewalk and trail project.
The Parks & Rec Director commented that the City Council approved the study which
recommended adding a sidewalk or trail along Labore Road. He stated that the next step is for
staff to find a funding source.
