<br /> <br /> STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Parks & Recreation Commission <br /> <br />FROM: Bill Dircks, Public Works Director <br /> <br />DATE: April 4, 2024 <br /> <br />RE: Summer Field Usage Update <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED <br />No action is requested. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The last two months has resulted in numerous organizations and associations signing up for field <br />usage at both Pioneer and Spooner Park. Softball appears to be as popular as ever as there are <br />leagues locked on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday nights. The senior men are <br />once again playing on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and Wednesday evenings at Pioneer <br />Park. <br />The Baseball Basics class is scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays at Gilbertson Field and the <br />Roseville Area Youth Baseball Association will be using Gilbertson and the Eli fields for some <br />of its yet to be scheduled games and practices. The Rev Sports T-ball and baseball program will <br />be using Pioneer Park fields on Wednesday nights. St. John’s baseball is using an Eli field for <br />five games in early-spring. <br />NSSA, a soccer association, will be playing on the large Pioneer Park soccer field as well as the <br />multi-purpose fields on Monday and Wednesday nights. Another association is using the multi- <br />purpose fields Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. There is the possibility of another association <br />using the large field an additional night or two. <br />Rev Sports also has a basketball program on Tuesday nights and a tennis program on Wednesday <br />nights. Both of those will be at Pioneer Park. <br />Two tournaments have been scheduled so far at Pioneer Park. The Mosquitoland Senior Softball <br />Tournament will take place May 30 – June 2 and the LCRA Fastpitch Softball Tournament will <br />take place the following weekend, June 8 and 9. <br /> <br />
