<br /> <br />Page 5 of 8 <br />o 1.) Post the opening and message all current inclusion staff <br />o 2.) Follow up 1:1 with specific recreation staff who may be interested/available <br />o 3.) Offer the shift to other professionals who work at Reach and if a fit is found, provide training <br />o 4.) Post job openings specific to this needed position <br /> Efforts to Fill Shifts: <br />o Every effort will be made to find a team member to provide inclusion assistance and programs that <br />request support. <br />o Requests will be attempted to be filled in the order they are received. <br />o Requests from contracted partners who still have hours remaining in their contracts will be prioritized. <br />o If Reach is unable to fill a shift due to a workforce shortage, special skills needed, or any other issue, <br />Reach will not bill for any hours. <br /> Inclusion substitutes may be sent in the event the scheduled staff person has a schedule conflict. <br />o Reach has approximately 40 inclusion facilitators, as well as the adaptive recreation and inclusion <br />department’s Director, Assistant Director, and Program Assistant. will do their best to full fill the <br />inclusion needs for a scheduled program. <br />o If no substitute can be scheduled, Reach may need to contact the program leads or the caregiver to ask <br />if they are available to support the inclusion participant that day. Administrative staff can provide <br />creative solutions, tips and feedback to help create a successful experience. <br />o Unless there is a safety concern, participants should not be told that they cannot attend program if <br />there is no inclusion staff available. <br /> Procedures for unfilled shifts, cancellations, or absent participants: <br />o In the event of an unforeseeable circumstance that would prohibit an inclusion staff from making it to a <br />scheduled program with little or no notice then the Little Canada staff would work with the caregiver or <br />have a staff that has attended Reach’s Inclusion/Disability training assist the instructors for the class or <br />program to help provide the inclusion support needed. <br />o In the event of a cancellation with at least two weeks’ notice Reach will not bill for any services. <br />o In the event of an absent participant at a scheduled inclusion without any notice (no call no show): <br /> Reach staff may stay and assist the other children in the program and bill for their time. <br /> Reach staff may wait for the participant for 30 minutes after the program scheduled start time <br />before departing. Little Canada will be billed for the time that staff was present. <br />o In the event of a cancellation with less than two weeks’ notice: <br /> Reach Staff may stay and assist the other children in the program and bill for their time. <br /> Reach staff may choose not to attend or be pulled to an area of greater need. Reach will not bill <br />for any services. <br /> In the event of a weather cancellation, Reach will bill for the scheduled number of hours, <br />including a 2-hour minimum of it applies. <br /> Level II Requests
