MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />MARCH 14, 2024 <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the City Council of Little Canada, <br />Minnesota was convened on the 14th day of March, 2024 in the Council Chambers of the City <br />Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br /> <br />Chair Taelor Johnson called the meeting to order at 5:32 p.m. and the following members of the <br />Planning Commission were present at roll call: <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION: Boe-Schmidtz, Carlson-Clark, Haluptzok, Johnson, Kulousek, <br />Lum, Masrud, and Thorson <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: Community Development Director/ Planner Corrin Wendell <br /> <br /> <br />ADOPT AGENDA <br />The agenda was approved as presented. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />Commissioner Kulousek, made a motion to approve the February 8, 2024 Planning Commission <br />minutes as submitted. Commissioner Boe-Schmidtz, seconded the motion. The motion was <br />unanimously approved. <br /> <br />OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br />No comments. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />TEXT AMENDMENT – ZONING CODE CHAPTER 916 - SIGNS <br />The Community Development Director stated that this is a continuation of the discussion from <br />the previous month, noting that she did research the additional elements requested by the <br />Commission relating to signs. She provided background information and reviewed the <br />objectives, proposed changes, and community impact. She reviewed the proposed changes in <br />more detail. She noted that the City Council will be holding a public hearing to consider these <br />changes and asked that the Commission provide its recommendation. <br /> <br />Commissioner Carlson-Clark asked if there are any existing signs that would exceed the <br />footcandle limitation and also asked for information on the dimmer requirement. <br /> <br />The Community Development Director replied that the existing signs would continue to be in <br />compliance with that footcandle limitation.
