MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA JULY 11, 2024 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the City Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 11th day of July, 2024 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. Chair Howarth called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and the following members of the Parks & Recreation Commission were present at roll call: PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION: Delong Miller, Horwath, Mui, Owens, Schletty, Williams, Churcher. ALSO PRESENT: Parks and Recreation Director Steve Anderson, and Recreation Coordinator Emelie Lindabaur MINUTES Commissioner Churcher made a motion to approve the June 6, 2024 Parks & Recreation Commission minutes as submitted. Commissioner Schletty seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. Chair Horwath commented that although not on the agenda, the Commission has been asked to accept an award. The Parks and Recreation Director stated that a representative from MRPA is at the meeting to present an award for the inclusive playground at Pioneer Park. Stephanie Schutta, MRPA, presented the 2023 Award of Excellence to the City of Little Canada Parks and Recreation Department for the Pioneer Park Inclusive Park Enhancements. Chair Horwath accepted the award on behalf of the Commission and City of Little Canada. OLD BUSINESS ART IN THE PARK SUBCOMMITTEE Commissioner Churcher commented that some of the art was recently featured at Music in the Park and the next event will be the Ice Cream Social. Chair Horwath commented that this is a great example of the Commission and the ability for its members to share their passion and be more involved.
