MINUTES
Parks & Recreation Commission
July l6, 2009
Fahey said she hasn't seen a lot of graffiti this summer compared to previous years.
Morelan stated that there has not been any this year. He thinks the monthly meetings with
the Ramsey County Sheriffls officers and the increased patrolling of park areas has helped
in decreasing the vandalism this year.
Maida commented he has noticed that the Little Canada Recreation Association has donated
numerous items to the city for the youth in the area. Maida asked if there could be an
occasion upcoming where the members of that group and the P&R Commissioners could
meet each other. Morelan commented that the Rec. Association members will be active in
the Canadian Days events, such as the volleyball tourney on Friday and the Kittenball
tourney throughout the weekend. Maida asked if there was a way to recognize the group for
their donations to the city and suggested a plaque be given to the LCRA and hung in city
hall. Morelan stated he would check on how this could be handled.
Lolmaugh reported that the swings at Nadeau Park were squeaking and they shifC from side
to side. Morelan stated he would look into having the situation fixed.
ADJOURN Upon motion by Lolmaugh, seconded by Steinwall, the meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Dotty Norgard
Recording Secretary
