MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />OCTOBER 9, 2024 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the City Council of Little Canada, <br />Minnesota was convened on the 9th day of October 2024 in the Council Chambers of the City Center <br />located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Tom Fischer called the meeting to order at 7:34 p.m. and the following members of the City <br />Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Fischer, Council Members T. Miller, Kwapick, Gutierrez and D. Miller. <br />Absent: None. <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Chris Heineman, Community Relations Manager Lauran <br />Linehan, Parks and Recreation Director Steve Anderson, and City Clerk/HR Manager Heidi Heller. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />SEPTEMBER 25, 2024 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />T. Miller introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024-10-113 —APPROVING THE MINUTES OF THE SEPTEMBER <br />25, 2024 REGULAR MEETING AS SUBMITTED <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by D. Miller. <br />Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />The City Administrator provided details on a recent road closure on Demont Avenue at the railroad <br />tracks. He stated that project was anticipated to be a one -week project but is now in its third week and <br />should be open by 8 p.m. the following night. He stated that Friday, October 18th beginning at 2 p.m., <br />the Carpenter Nature Center will be hosting an event about animals of the St. Croix. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />Jordan Ruplinger, 2485 Edgerton Street, commented that on the north side of the road there is a <br />utility/sewage pumping station where vegetation has died, and the fencing is in disrepair. He <br />commented that they have invested in their own landscaping and would like to see that site improved <br />as well. He noted that if the City planted vegetation and/or trees, they would assist with watering. He <br />noted that while a new fence would be even better, he recognized that the City has a budget and <br />process to follow. He also commented that it would be nice to have flashing pedestrian crossing lights <br />for the park. He recognized that it is a County road and would even appreciate the contact info for the <br />County if that is the appropriate party to contact. <br />Allen Moore, 849 Westwind Drive, commented that he appreciated the recent debate hosted by the <br />League of Women Voters.
