MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 9, 2024 <br />D. Miller stated that there was good discussion by the Park and Recreation Commission and agreed <br />with the importance of the water feature in the memorial. He also agreed that the bubbler should have <br />one more chance and if it were to fail again, they should then consider another option. <br />Kwapick asked if there would be a warranty. The Park and Recreation Director stated that he would <br />assume so but would pay attention to that when they go out for bid. <br />T. Resolution declared adopted. <br />RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR RAMSEY COUNTY CRITICAL CORRIDORS FUNDING <br />REQUEST <br />The City Administrator explained that tonight the Council is asked to consider providing a resolution <br />of support for the multi -family housing project proposed at the intersection of Rice and Demont, noting <br />that this would assist in providing connectivity outside of the proposed project area. He stated that <br />they were not successful in the Metropolitan Council's Livable Communities grant. He stated that the <br />City has been awarded funds through the Critical Corridors funding program in the past. <br />Mayor Fischer commented that it is a great program and opportunity, hoping that the City scores well. <br />T. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />COUNCIL REPORTS AND MEETING UPDATES <br />D. Miller referenced comments received from a local business owner related to drainage concerns, <br />noting that the City Council then approved plans for a project and asked for an update. <br />The City Administrator noted that plans for that project were originally approved in 2023 but there was <br />difficulty with aligning the contractor and therefore the work did not occur until late July or early <br />August of 2024. He stated that shortly after completion of that project, the drainage concerns have <br />thus far been alleviated. <br />T. Miller provided an update on the recent resource fair for the manufactured home community in <br />Ramsey County. <br />S <br />
