There are approximately 660 households that <br />subscribe to optional seasonal yard waste services and 1,780 accounts with recycling services. <br />Approximately 160 townhomes are in the process of being built at the Pioneer Commons Development, <br />which would increase estimated counts. <br />Please be advised that the City of Little Canada offers four exemptions that may impact the number of <br />estimated trash accounts. Exemptions and the estimated number of exemptions include: <br />1) Residents who own a business or a rental property that is located within 25 miles of the City of <br />Little Canada. The property must have refuse collection that the Little Canada resident is <br />paying for and using for his/her own residential refuse. The rental property must have at a <br />minimum a two (2) yard container for disposal service. The resident will still be required to <br />enroll in recycling and bulky item pickup services at contracted charges. Estimated number of <br />exemptions: 10 total accounts between exemptions 1 and 2. <br />2) Residents who own a business but lease the business space. The resident will still be required <br />to enroll in recycling and bulky item. Estimated number of exemptions: 10 total accounts <br />between exemptions 1 and 2. <br />3) Residents who are out of town on vacation a minimum of one month. Estimated number of <br />exemptions: 24 <br />4) An owner or resident of an existing residential property considered to be a medium-density <br />dwelling unit constructed before February 16, 2024, may continue to utilize their existing <br />licensed hauler provided there are no zoning code violations related to the collection of solid <br />waste or recyclable materials.
