2

City of Little Canada
Request for Quote for a Community Survey

Introduction
The completion of a city-wide community survey is outlined in the City of Little Canada’s 2022
Strategic Plan update. Historically, the city has conducted a community survey every five to six
years.

The city is looking for a statically accurate survey, taking into account demographics within the
community. Additionally, the city is looking to partner with a firm that will work with city staff
and potentially elected officials to develop or utilize pre-built survey questions. The city’s
requirement of the selected firm is that the questions posed and developed with best practices
in data collection.

Finally, the city is looking for the selected firm to present results in a way that allows all
individuals to understand the overall survey process, methodology behind collection and
analysis, and provide a clear overview of the results.

Please note, the city is unique in that public safety services are provided through the Little
Canada Fire Department (non-profit) and the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office, which may
require additional effort in building/utilizing public safety-based survey questions.

Project Goals
The city has a number of goals for the upcoming 2025 community survey with hopes the survey
process will allow the city to:
• Understand resident's views on the overall quality of life in Little Canada
• Outline how residents view and experience belonging within the community
• Allow capturing of baseline data around DEI/Inclusion themes
• Gauge resident’s view of city services and “how the city is doing”
• Gauge interest in other potential city services

History of Community Surveys for the City of Little Canada
The most recent city-wide community survey was completed in August of 2018.
