<br /> MINUTES <br /> CITY Council <br /> (Cont.) <br /> April 9, 1980 <br /> Extra Councilman DeBace informed the Council that the Utility Department <br /> Water has a couple of extra 8-inch water meters it would like to sell. The <br /> Meters St. Paul Mater Department will give the City $835.00 for both meters. <br /> The Utility Department feels if they can find a buyer for the meters, <br /> the meters would bring $2,000.00 each. <br /> Councilman DeBace suggested that the Utility Department advertise the mete=''~ <br /> sor s~1e _i.~~ the Water Works Magazine and the Minnesota Cities Magazine. <br /> Ramsey Mayor Hanson informed the Council that at a recent meeting with the <br /> County County he was informed that the County will not act on any problems <br /> in the City unless they have a letter from the City outlining the <br /> problems and requesting action. Some of the points of concern the <br /> City has include a pedestrian crossing near St. John's Church and on <br /> Centerville Road near the Montreal Courts Apartments, a bike trail <br /> along Gervais beach, the trimming of the bushes along the Boys en property, <br /> and a 4-way stop at LaBore Road and Edgerton. <br /> Mr. DeBace introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION N0. 80-4-153 - INSTRUCTING TFIE CITY CLERK TO <br /> SEND A LETTER TO THE COUNTY OUTLINING ANY CONCERNS OR PROBLEMS <br /> THE CITY FIAS TNAT THE CITY WOULD LIKE THE COUNTY TO RESOLVE <br /> The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Nadeau. <br /> Ayes (5) DeBace, Nadeau, Hanson, Fahey, Scalze. <br /> Nayes (0). <br /> Resolution declared adopted. <br /> This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 6, Page 98. <br /> Park Councilwoman Scalze stated that the Park Commission would like to ca17 <br /> Improvements for bids for some improvements to be made in Spooner Park. These <br /> improvements were budgeted for for 1980. They include $25,000 for <br /> trails, $9,000 for lighting for the tennis courts, $750 for benches for <br /> the tennis courts, and $1,000 for trees for the amphitheatre area. <br /> The Park Commission is also considering using $5,000 that was budgeted <br /> for parking lot surfacing to construct a fence which would prevent <br /> vehicles from driving off Eli Road into the Park. Mrs. Scalze <br /> informed the Council that the School Board may pay for the cost of <br /> the fence. The Park Commission will work with the School board on this. <br /> Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION N0. 80-4-154 - AUTHORIZING THE PARK COMMISSION <br /> TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR TRAILS FOR SPOONER PARK AND FOR <br /> LIGHTING OF THE TENNIS COURTS IN SPOONER PARK <br /> Page -15- <br /> <br />
