<br /> MINUTES <br /> City Council <br /> (Cont.) <br /> April 9, 1980 <br /> Costa Attorney Parks informed the Council that he received a call from Mrs. <br /> Matter Costa. Mrs. Costa wanted to inform Parks that Mr. Stenger is now back <br /> in town and she would like Parks to find out what Mr. Stenger will be <br /> doing regarding her complaints. <br /> Country Attorney Parks stated that ~e is waiting for the legal description <br /> Drive for that portion of Country Drive that was vacated as requested by <br /> Vacation Mr. Ed Nadeau. This vacation will be completed shortly. <br /> 01d Attorney Parl<s stated that Mr. Tansey has probably begun 'the appraisal <br /> Little on the Old Little Canada School building. <br /> Canada <br /> School Councilwoman Scalze stated that the City advertised for a committee to <br /> Building study the feasibility of purchasing the Old Little Canada School <br /> building. However, there are no replies to this advertisement. <br /> The City Clerk stated that the ad was only run on Tuesday. The Clerk <br /> suggested that the Council wait another month. He will also run the <br /> advertisement again. <br /> Maplewood The Engineer reported that there has been a request from a Maplewood <br /> Connection resident to connect to the Little Canada sanitary sewer. The Engineer <br /> To Little stated that he would like to contact these people and find out more <br /> Canada about the situation. <br /> Sewer <br /> Carley stated that if all the residents in this area wanted to connect <br /> to the City's sewer, they would have to do it from the same location. <br /> Sewer The Engineer reported that the City can get Federal monies to do a <br /> Infiltration study on infiltration of surface waters in the City's sanitary sewer <br /> Study system. After the study is completed, the City would then make <br /> plans to resolve any problems causing the infiltration and then <br /> would proceed to correct 'the problems. Mr. Carley reported that 'the <br /> Federal government would pay 904b of the costs involved' and the City <br /> would have to pick up the remaining 109. Mr. Carley thought the <br /> study might cost between $15,000 and $18'000. <br /> Councilman DeBace felt that he and the Engineer should get together <br /> with Roger Glanzer of the Utility Department regarding the problem of <br /> infiltration into 'the City's sewer system. <br /> Councilman Fahey stated that if this was not compulsory he was not <br /> in favor of getting into an open-ended agreement where the City would <br /> not know the costs they would have to pay. Fahey also questioned <br /> if the City had enough problems to justify getting into this program. <br /> Councilman DsBace suggested this be held over for one more month so <br /> the Council could have a clearer picture on what the program involves. <br /> Page -9- <br /> <br />
