<br /> MINUTES <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> October 8, 1980 <br /> Mr. DeBace introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION N0. 80-10-387 - INSTRUCTING THE CITY ATI~ORNEY <br /> AND CITY ENGINEER TO TALK TO TFIF CITY OF MAPLEWOOD AND <br /> INVESTIGATE THE SITUATION AS IT IS INVOLVING PRIVATE PROPERTY <br /> IN THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA AND FURTHER INSTRUCTING TFIE <br /> ATTORNEY AND ENGINEER TO TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION TO GET THE <br /> SITUATION RESOLVED <br /> The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Scalze. <br /> Ayes (5) DeBace, Scalze, Hanson, Nadeau, Fahey. <br /> Noyes (O). <br /> Resolution declared adopted. <br /> This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 6, Page 252. <br /> "fheis The Engineer stated that he is not ready to discuss the Reed land fill <br /> & Reed problem. The Watershed District has recommended that they dig out an <br /> Land equal amount from the pond to replace the amount of fill they are <br /> Fill bringing in. The Engineer stated that he suggested that they get a <br /> & Reed clarification of this recommendation. <br /> Easement <br /> Approval The Engineer reported that the Reed's own a lot on Greenbrier Circle <br /> which they bought to have access to an acre of property they own on <br /> the lake. The Reed's would like to have a 15 foot easement along the <br /> lot on Greenbrier Circle back to the property on the lake. The easement <br /> will be used as a driveway. <br /> Mr. Reed informed the Council that his daughter would like to build a <br /> house on the Greenbrier Circle lot. The Reed's want to ensure that <br /> they will still have access back to the acre on the lake. <br /> Councilman Fahey asked if the Reed's intended to develop one, two, <br /> three, or four lots from this acre of property. <br /> Mr. Reed stated that the Engineer has recommended a 15 foot easement <br /> which would service two homes on the property by the lake. <br /> The Engineer stated that he recommended approval of the 15 foot easement <br /> on the north side of the lot on Greenbrier Circle. <br /> Councilman Fahey stated that the City did not legally have to approve this <br /> easement. Fahey suggested that perhaps the City should restrict the number <br /> of houses that could be built on the property by the lake. Fahey stated <br /> that he would not like to see more than two houses built on this property. <br /> Councilman DeBace stated that the City would not want to be liable to <br /> maintain this easement. <br /> Mrs. Mugs Nardini informed the Council that the Natershed is discussing the <br /> displacement that is going on with property on the lake. Nardini stated <br /> that the Council is not sure what can be done until the latershed District <br /> comes to a decision. <br /> Page -9- <br /> <br />
