MINUTES <br /> City Council <br /> November 12, 1980 <br /> The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Scalze. <br /> Ayes (5) Nadeau, Scalze, Hanson, DeBace, Fahey. <br /> Hayes (0). <br /> Resolution declared adopted. <br /> This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 6, Pages 283 and 284. <br /> Purchase of Councilman DeBace informed the Council that the Utility Department would <br /> Cutting like to purchase cutting torches and an arc welder. The Utility Department <br /> <br /> Torch & has a couple of quotations for this equipment. The low prices they <br /> <br /> Arc Welder received were $169 for the cut tiny torches and $629 for the arc welder. <br /> Mr. DeBace introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION N0. 80-11-440 - APPROVING THE PURCFIASE OF A <br /> CUTTING TORCH IN THE AMOUNT OF $169 AND THE PUP.CNASE OF <br /> A MILLER ARC WELDER IN THE AMOUNT OF $629 <br /> The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Nadeau. <br /> Ayes (5) DeBace, Nadeau, hlanson, Fahey, Scalze. <br /> Hayes (0). <br /> Resolution declared adopted. <br /> This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 6, Page 284. <br /> Calling Councilman DeBace reported that the Utility Department's old pick-up <br /> For Bids truck is worn out. The Utility Department would like to take bids for <br /> For New a 1/2 ton pick-up truck with a 6 cylinder engine. <br /> Pick-up <br /> Truck Councilman Nadeau suggested that the Utility Department look at a small <br /> truck such as a Chevy Luv. Councilman DeBace stated that he and the <br /> Utility Department will compare the various light-duty trucks on the <br /> market. <br /> Mr. Nadeau introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION M0. 80-11-441 - CALLING FOR BIDS FOR A NEW <br /> PICK-UP TRUCK FOR THE UTILITY DEPARTMENT <br /> The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Hanson. <br /> ayes (5) Nadeau, Hanson, DeBace, Scalze, Fahey. <br /> Hayes (0 <br /> Resolution declared adopted. <br /> This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 6, Page 284. <br /> Additional Councilman DeBace reported that the Utility Department has again asked <br /> Utility for approval to hire an additional full-time employee. DeBace also <br /> Department informed the Council that it was his feeling that this subject should <br /> Employee be tabled until after the first of the year. DeBace suggested that <br /> hiring an additional employee be put off until March or April and that <br /> an additional employee was not needed duriny the 4)inter months. <br /> Page -18- <br /> <br />
