MINUTES
City Council
January 74, 1981
Mrs. Scalze stated that St. Jude's would like some credit for the open
space they are leaving.
Mayor Hanson stated that the total property that St. Jude's owns is 31
acres, but they are developing only 18 acres. Hanson commented that
Gopher Electmnics, for example, developed a much greater percentage of
their property.
Councilman Fahey stated that it was his opinion that the open space left
by St. Jude's pays for the rezoning of the property.
Mayor Hanson stated that he felt $16,000 was a lot of money to expect
from St. Jude's.
Flttorney Parks stated that he would be negotiating the park charge with
St. Jude's based on the Council's direction as to the amount of the park
charge.
Councilman Fahey stated that if the park charge is not able to be negotiated
then there will not be a PUD. The property will go back to R-1 zoning.
Fahey stated that the $12,000 is approximately what the City would get
in park charges if the property was developed as R-1.
Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 81-1-42 - INSTRUCTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO
NEGOTIATE PARK CHARGES WITH ST. ~UDE'S MF..DICAL BUT NOT
SETTLE AT A FIGURE LESS THAN $12,000 PAYA6LE FlT THE OCCUPANCY
Of PNASE I OR $16,000 PAYABLE IN THE SPRING OF 1983
The foreqoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Sca1ze.
~{yes (3) Fahey, Scalze, Nardini.
Nayes (2) Hanson, Forsberg.
Resolution declared adopted.
This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 7, Page 24.
Park Mrs. Scalze recommended to the Council that the Park Commission members
Commission be compensated at a rate of $10 per meeting rather than the $10 per
Compensation month they are presently receiving.
