SPECIAL MEE7ING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANFlDA, MINNESOTA <br />february 25, 1981 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a specia1 meeting of the <br />Council of the City of Little Canada, M9nnesota was held on the <br />25th day of February, 1981 in the Council Chambers of the City Center <br />located at 515 Little Canada Road in saici City, <br />The Mayor, Mr. Raymond Hanson, chaired and called the meeting to order <br />at 7:30 P.M. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Mr, Raymond Hanson <br />Councilman Mr. Michael Fahey <br />Councilman Mr. Dennis Forsberg <br />Counciluioman Mrs. Mugs Nardini <br />Councilwoman P1rs, Beverly Scalze <br /> FlLSO PRESENT: City Clerk Mr. Joseph Ch1ebeck <br /> City Flttorney Mr. Clayton Parks <br /> City Planner Mr, Brad Mietson <br /> Recording Secretary Mrs, Kathleen Glanzer <br />Rezoning Mayor Hanson opened the public hearing on the proposed rezoning of some <br />Of property on County Road B from light industria7 to busi ness warehousing. <br />Property <br />On County The Planner described the property as being located wes t of the railroad <br />Road B tracks, south of Highway 36 and north of County Road Q. The property is <br /> currently undeveloped for the most part. There are thr ee houses in the <br /> area. <br />The Planner stated that the business warehousing zoning would be somewhat <br />of a downzoning of the property. The industrial zoning would allow <br />manufactur~ng, but the business warehousing would not. The City of <br />Mapleuiood is proposing res9dential development for the south side of <br />County Road B. <br />Mr. Steve Marshe, a resident of the area, asked what effect the down-zoning <br />wou1d have on property values. The City Planner stated that he dic( not feel <br />the doNm-zoning would effect property values. <br />Mayor Hanson statecl that Representative Valento feels the State owns too <br />much right-of-way in this area. Valento feels the City Council shou7d request <br />the State to release part of this right-of-way. The City has no knowledge <br />that the State has any p1ans for this right-of-way. <br />P4r. Marshe asked if there has been any development requests for the property <br />being discussed. <br />The Planner stated that there has been a development request for Lot 4 in the <br />area. Mrs. Peggy Langsley, the owner ofi' lot 4, stated that they had a <br />development request for Lot 4 for the construction of an industrial building <br />to house an excavating company. <br />Fage -1- <br />
