MIP!UTES
City Council
February 25, 1981
P~r. Fahey stated that he was not in favor of R-1 zoning for the Waite
property.
Mr. Forsberg again stated ~hat the Council should get the appraisals.
Mrs. Scalze stated that the appraisals wi11 be based on the number of
units that cou1d be put on the property.
Mrs. Nardini stated that she felt the City C,ouncil will have to forget
about any rezoning of the Schrier property. It will cost the City too much
money.
Mr. fahey felt the Council could not make an intelligent decision without
the appraisals.
Mayor Hanson suggested the Council go along with the hearings as scheduled.
Mr. Fahey suggested going along with the R-2 hearing and if this is
acceptab7e, the Council could rezone to R-2. If not, the Council should
schedule a hear~ng for R-le
Mr. Fahey stated that the cost of the appraisals should be reasonable.
7he City does not want the appraisals at any cost.
Mr. Fahey a1so suggested that the Planner study the ordinance as it applies
to Schrier and Waite and the Viking Drive property as to the maximum usage
of the property, and what the City feels could be put on the property.
fahey also suggested the Planner work with the appraisers.
Fahey also felt the appraisals should cover all questions: R-1, R-2 and
a combination of the two on the Schrier property.
7he Planner stated that Schrier has always maintained that because he
submitted a plan prior to the moratorium and the court says the City
must act on it, that the Council must approve his plan. He is going on
the assumption that the court approved the plan.
Mr. Fahey stated that the City Attorney feels that Schrier must abide by
the City's new ordinance. The City also has in its favor the length of
time that has lapsed since Schrier submitted his plan.
The Mayor stated that the Council wi11 hold the hearing as scheduled on
the Waite property for R-2 and that the Council will obtain appraisals
on the properties involved.
Road Mr, forsberg stated that it is the recommendation of the Utility Department
Restrictions that the City set its road restriction dates to be in compliance with the
County`s each year. Mr, Forsberg also stated that road restrictions will
go on City roads on Monday.
The City Clerk reported that MTC buses are excluded from these restrictions,
The C1erk asked if the restrictions app1ied to fuel oil trucks. Mr, Forsberg
stated that he would check into this,
Page -9-
