MI~IUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />April 22, 1981 <br />Parks stated that Morelan feels he can convince the Maryhouse people. <br />The City may have to construct a fence between the warming house and <br />the house that Maryhouse rents out. <br />Mrs. Nardini stated that the survey the Counci1 has shows that the <br />skating rink is 1ocated on the Maryhouse property also. <br />Attorney Parks stated that he has determined that Maryhouse has been <br />paying taxes on this property. <br />Park Flttorney Parks submitted to the Council a proposed Park Charge Ordinance. <br />Charge Mr. Parks brought this ordinance into line with State law. Mr. Parks <br />Ordinance changed the ordinance to refer only to subdivisions and changed the <br />assessed value to read fair market value. <br />Parks also pointed out that he left the park charge in the ordinance <br />that the City has been charging for individual dwellings. Parks sugaested <br />that this be left in the ordinance until someone cha7lenges it. <br />The City Clerk asked if the ordinance provides that the park charge can <br />be amended by resolution. The Flttorney stated that the Council passed <br />a resolution stating that the park charge fee can be changed by Council <br />resolution. <br />Mrs. Nardini stated that the park charge for a single family dwelling <br />is $300. <br />Mr. Hanson and Mr. Forsberg stated that the $300 is too high. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following ordinance and moved its adoption: <br />ORDINANCE N0. 172 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE LITTLE <br />CANADA CODE BY CONFORMING TH[ PARK FlVFlILABILITY CHFlRGE <br />PROVISIONS TO STATE STATUTES <br />The foregoing ordinance was duly seconded by Mr. Fahey. <br />qyes (3) Scalze, Fahey, Nardini. <br />Nayes (2) Flanson, Forsberg. <br />Ordinance declared adopted. <br />St. Jude's Flttorney Parks reported that he and Mayor Hanson met with St. Jude's <br />Park regarding their park charge. St. Jude's has submitted three alternatives <br />Charge to the City with regard to this charge. They are: l. $11,000 payable <br />at the time of issuance of an occupancy permit for Phase I; 2. $7,500 <br />payable this year anci an additional $5,000 payable when Phase III <br />plans are approved or no later than J~ily 15, 7985; 3. $5,000 payable <br />this year, $5,000 payable July 15, 1983, and $5,000 payable July 15, <br />1985. <br />Page -18- <br />
