MIPIUTES <br />City Council <br />May 13, 1981 <br />Mrs. Sca1ze asked what the s9tua~ion on Park Street miyht be regarding <br />senior citizen deferments. The Engineer replied that he knew of one <br />sen9or citizen deferment the City might have for sure. <br />Mayor Flanson fel~ that the increased tax base to the City may offset <br />the amount of senior citizen deferments the City m5ght have. <br />Mr. forsherg commented that Mr. Johnson has already contributed his <br />port9on ofi the easement for Park Street. Forsberg stated tha~ he fee1s <br />he must support the idea of a cul-de-sac on the north portion of the <br />Johnson and Vi1leaux property, unless a reasonab1e solution can be <br />made regarding the Vil1eaux and Johnson pronert~es. <br />Mayor Hanson suggested that there could be a trade off of the easements <br />for assessments. <br />Councilman Fahey asked the audience for commerrts on Park S~ree~ either <br />for or against. <br />Mr. Johnson replied that he is tired of fighting Park Street. Mr. Qehr <br />stated that he was for the Park Street improvement, Mr. Ed Anderson <br />stated that it made no difference to him either way whether Park Street <br />went through or not. <br />Mr. Vi1leaux stated that if Park Streei; is improved, ne would like to <br />be assured that he could build on the back portion of his property iF <br />he were going to be assessed for Park Street. The lot would be about <br />85 to 90 feet by 100 feet. <br />Mrs. Scalze stated that the assessments could be deferred until such time <br />as the property wo~i1d be split. <br />Mrs. Nardini stated that the Park Street improvement will come. The <br />City has spent a great deal of money on this improvement and Nardini <br />felt that the City should get it over with and order the improvement. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTIOf~! N0. 81-5-216 - ORDERI~IG THE IMPROVEMENT OF <br />P RK STREET FROM COUNTY ROFlD C TO DFMONT <br />The -Foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Nardini. <br />qyes (5) Fahey, Nardini, Hanson, Forsberg, Scalze. <br />Nayes (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 7, Page 744. <br />The approximate costs of the improvement are as follows: <br />$17.20 per f'ront foot for sewer; <br />$14.05 per front foot for watermain; <br />$62.50 per front foot for s~reet for residential property; <br />$87.00 per front foot for street for commercial property; <br />$8.00 per front foot for curb. <br />Page -7- <br />
