MINUTES <br />City Council <br />June 10, 1981 <br />Mr. Forsberg suggested that a$500 increase in the fee would be more <br />reasonable. <br />Councilman Fahey suggested that the fee be increased to $2,250. Fahey <br />stated that this amount Hioulcl still be low in comparison with other <br />cities of Litt1e Canada's size. <br />Mayor Hanson commented that he would be in favor of the increase in the <br />fee to become effective next year to give the businesses more notice <br />of the increase. <br />Mrs. Scalze felt that the Council should not be bargaining w9th bar <br />owners over the liquor license fees. Scalze did comment that the <br />timing of the increase may have been off. <br />Fahey felt that the Council should have the comments of the bar owners <br />on wha~t they feel is fair. The Council can raise taxes and still be <br />fair. <br />Mayor Nanson suggested that such increases be considered at budget time <br />in the future. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following reso7ution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION M110. 81-6-287 - INCREFlSIPIG THE LIQUOR LZCENSE <br />FEE FOR ON-S LE INT XICFlTING LIQUOR LICENSES TO $2,000 <br />FOR 1981 AND $2,250 fOR 1982 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Nardini. <br />qyes (5) Fahey, Nardini, Hanson, Forsberg, Scalze. <br />Nayes (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Reso7ution Book No. 7, Page 215. <br />An~mal The City Clerk informed the Counci1 that the Town of White Bear recently <br />Control advised the City that they would no 7onger be providing animal contro1 <br />Contract services. Mr. Tom Engley, formerly providing this service through the <br />Town ofi White 6ear, submitted to the Council a contract to provide this <br />service through White 6ear Animal Control, Inc. for the City of L9ttle <br />Canada. The charges and services for animal control would be the same <br />as previously provided by the Town of White Bear. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the fol1owing reso1ution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 81-6-288 - APPROVING TFIE ANIMAL CONTROL <br />CONTRACT WITH NIHITE BFAR FlNIMAL CONTROL, INC. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Nardini. <br />Ayes (5) Sca7ze, Nardini, Hanson, Forsberg, Fahey. <br />Nayes (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This reso7ution appears in Resolution ~ook No. 7, Page 216. <br />Page -12- <br />
