MINUTES <br />City Council <br />June 10, 1981 <br />Tree Mr. Tom Horwath, the City's Tree Inspector, informed the Council that <br />Removal the S~ate's reimbursement for tree removal has been lowered to 21.7%. <br />Last year`s reimbursement rate by the State was approximate7y 47%. <br />The City Clerk reported that last year the State paid approximate7y <br />25% for removal of a tree, the City paid 25%, and the homeowner paid <br />the balance of the removal costs. <br />Mr. Horwath in~ormed the Counci1 that under the present reimbursement <br />rate, the State would pay 20% of the 25% of the tree removal cost that <br />the City picks up. This would leave approximately 75% that the <br />homeowner is paying. Mr. Horwath is questioning if the City wants to <br />pick up the 5% of the tree removal costs that will not be covered by <br />State reimbursement. <br />Mrs. Nardini commented that the homeowners should pay the remaining 5%. <br />Mr. Forsberg agreed that the homeowners should pay the 5% and not the <br />general taxpayers. <br />Mr. Forsberg introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLU7ION N0. 81-6-289 - INCREASING THE COST FOR <br />TREE RE V L B 5% FOR TNE INDIVIDUAL HOMEOWNER INVOLVED <br />The foregoing reso7ution was ~uly seconded by Mrs. Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Forsberg, Hanson, Fahey, Nardini. <br />Nayes (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 7, Page 217. <br />Sprospy Mayor Hanson reported that he contacted Mr, Sprospy regarding the equipment <br />Property that he is storing on his property. Mr. Sprospy commented that he is <br />completing the landscaping of his property and shou7d be completed shortly. <br />Mr. Gene Fasciana reported to the Councit that Mr. Sprospy has the <br />creek plugged. Mr. fasciana asked that Mr. Sprospy be required to <br />unblock the creek. <br />Councilman Fahey suggested that the City Flttorney write Mr. Sprospy a <br />letter regarding the condition of the creek, Hanson suggested that the <br />County also be notified of the blocked creek. <br />The Flttorney informed the Council that the County has always 7eft these <br />matters to the City to handle. <br />Mr. Forsberg commented that Mr. Sprospy should be notified to clean up <br />the creek, or the City will have it done and assess him fior the costs. <br />Mayor Hanson suggested. that the issue of erosion control should also be <br />mentioned. Forsberg suggested that Mr. Sprospy be g5ven two weeks to <br />clean up the creek. <br />The Flttorney suggested ~hat he will inform Mr. Sprospy of this ancl also <br />require that ~he condition of the creek pass an inspection made by the <br />City.
