MINUTES OF THE SPECIAI MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />October 7, 1981 <br />Pursuant to due ca71 and notice thereof a special meeting of the City <br />Council of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 7th <br />day of October, 1981 in the Council Chambers of the City Center <br />located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />The Mayor, Mr. Raymond Hanson, called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. <br />and the following were present at roll call. <br />MEM6ERS PRESENT: Mayor Mr. Raymond Hanson <br />Councilman Mr. MicYiael Fahey <br />Councilman Mr. Dennis Forsberg <br />Councilwoman Mrs. Mugs Nardini <br />Councilwoman Mrs. Beverly Sca7ze <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Clerk Mr. Joseph Ch7ebeck <br />City Attorney Mr. Clayton Parks <br />Consulting Engineer Mr. Donald Carley <br />Recording Secretary Mrs. Kathleen Glanzer <br />Approval Mr. Fahey introduced the following resol ution an d moved its adoption: <br />Of The <br />Minutes RESOLUTION N0. 81-10-541 - TABLING FlCTION ON THE MINUTES <br />OF THE SEPTEMBER 9, 1981 COUNCIL MEETING AN D THE SEPTEMEER <br />23, 1981 COUNCIL MEETING <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Scalze. <br />qyes (5) Fahey, Scalze, Hanson, Nardini, Forsberg. <br />Nayes (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Reso7ution Book No. 7, Page 358. <br />Deferred Mayor Hanson informed the audience that the purpose of tonight's meeting <br />Assessments is to review the assessments that the City has deferred in the past. <br />There is also a proposal to levy the accrued interest on any assessments <br />that remain deferred. Mr. Hanson corr~nented that at the time various <br />improvements were put in there may have been a reason that the Council <br />made certain deferrments. The Council will review these reasons to <br />determine if they still exist, and if so, the deferrments will remain. <br />If not, the assessments will be levied. <br />The City Clerk informed the audience that all deferrments will be reviewed <br />with the exception of senior citizen deferrments and deferrments of the <br />School District and the County. The City currently has $198,628 of <br />assessment deferrments and so far the City has lost some $80,000 in <br />interest on these deferrments. <br />The City Clerk reported that interest is levied on senior citizen <br />deferrments and, therefore, the Council is proposing that interest <br />be levied on other deferrments. The City of Maplewood has begun leving <br />such interest. <br />Page -1- <br />
