MINUTES <br />City Counci1 <br />November 25, 1981 <br />Mr. Fahey agreed that the system was <br />fair to cut the P.ecreation emp1oyees <br />wrong. <br />set up in the past and would not be <br />pay because what the City did was <br />Mr. Forsberg questioned if that meant the recreation directors would receive <br />a 35% increase in the portion of money paid under travel time. Mrs. Scalze <br />stated that it probab1y would take a 35% increase so that these people would <br />get the same take-home pay. <br />Mr. Fahey suggested that it wou1d all be considered a part of salary <br />and the City would not reimburse f~r any specific mileage expenses. <br />Mr. Forsberg stated that he was not in favor o~f giving this size of an <br />increase. Mr. Forsberg stated that he might be in favor of a 10% increase. <br />Mrs. Nardini agreed with Forsberg. <br />Mr. Fahey stated that he would like to see the figures laid out. Fahey <br />suggested that this be available at the next Council meeting. <br />Off-Sale The Flttorney submitted to the Council a pronosed ordinance amendment <br />Liquor regarding off-sale liquor lice nses. The amendment contains a change in <br />License the age of employees for such establishmen~s from age 18 to age 19. <br />Ordinance The amendment would also limit the number of off-sale licenses in the <br /> City to three until the C ity's population reaches 10,000. <br />Mayor fianson questioned if the word "shall" shou'Id be changed to "may" <br />to determine the availability of the license. The Attorney stated that <br />the word "may" would make it uncertain. The Attorney suggested that when <br />the population reaches 10,000 and if the City does not want to issue an <br />additional license, the ordinance could be amended at that time. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following ordinance and moved its adoption: <br />ORDINANCE N0. 178 - FlMENDING SECTTON 703.050 OF THE LITTLE <br />CANAD CODE B LIMITIMG THE NUMBER OF "OFF-SFlLE" LIQUOR <br />LICENSES AT THE PRESENT NUMBER THREE, UNTIL THE POPULATION <br />OF LITTLE CANADA EXCEEDS 10,000 PERSONS <br />7he foregoing ordinance was duly seconded by Mrs. Nardini, <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Nardini, Forsberg> Hanson, Scalze. <br />Nayes (0). <br />Ordinance declared adopted. <br />Fasement The Flttorney requested that the Council pass a resolutiori vacating a <br />On 10 foot util ity easement on the northwest corner lot at Althen Avenue <br />Althen and Sunrise Drive. The Flttorney stated that the Council previously <br />Avenue vacated the road easement, but did not vacate the utility easement. <br /> Mrs. Nardini asked if a utility easement could be used for a walking <br /> path, The Attorney rep1ied that it could not. <br /> Page -16- <br />
