Citiy Council <br />November 25, 1981 <br />Mr. fahey commented that he felt some of the Councilmember's eyes may <br />h~ve been opened in the Gagne matter. Fahey a1so stated that the <br />Granada Homes letter of credit that was j~ist discussed at this meeting <br />should be another indication to the Council. Fahey stated that the job <br />is not getting done when it should be done. <br />Mr. Forsberg informed the Counci7 that he has talked to Mr. Parks since <br />the last Council meeting. Forsberg commented that he himself has stated <br />that the Gity could use a new Attorney. Flowever, after talking to Mr. <br />Parks, Mr. Forsberg stated ~hat he could no~ support Mr. Fahey's move. <br />Pnr. Forsberg informed the C,ouncil that in discussing the situation with <br />the Flttorney he is pretty satisfied with the answers he has received <br />from the Attorney. Forsberg stated that Mr. Parks has informed him of <br />some of the things he must do to get the job done for the City. Forsberg <br />commented that Mr. Parks is only a part-time P,ttorney for the City <br />and he must set priorities on certain items to get the job done. <br />Forsberg also crted a situation where he was informed that not all the <br />easements were obtained for an area. Forsberg questioried the Flttorney a6out <br />this and found out that all the easements were obtained. The person <br />who first reported this to Forsberg was wrong. <br />Mr. Fahey stated that he did know feel the City hired the Flttorney part-time. <br />The City has hired him to get ~ job done. <br />Mr. Forsberg stated that the Attorney admits that not everything gets done <br />on time. Forsberg felt that the Flttorney has gotten the message from <br />recent ~iscussion of the Council. Forsberg stated that he was not prepar~ed <br />to look for a new Attorney. <br />Mrs. Scalze stated that she said all she had to say at the last meeting, <br />but that her concerns were not time-re1ated. <br />Mr. Forsberg a1so commented tha.t there are people who must get information <br />to the Attorney in order for him to get his job done. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the fo1lowing resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 81_11-677 - ORDERING TFIE SOLICITATIOM OF <br />APPLTCATIONS fOR THE CITY ATTORNEY POSITION FOR 1982 WITH <br />THE COUNCIL TO CONSIDER THESE APPLICA7IONS AT THE FIRST <br />COl)NCIL MEETIPIG IN JANUARY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Scalze. <br />qyes (3) Fahey, Scalze, Nardini. <br />Nayes (2) forsberg, Hanson. <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 7, Page 440. <br />Page -23- <br />
