MINUTES <br />City Council <br />January 27~ 1982 <br />Parks & Mrs. Scalze reported that the 11~th Annual Children~s Skating Party <br />Recreation sponsored by the Little Canada Recreation Association will be held <br />(Gont.) on Saturday~ February 13~ at 1 Y,M. <br />Scalze also reported that 38 children participated in volleyball, <br />90 in hockey, 19 in basketball~ 25 in broomball, 37 in gymnastics, <br />and 60 in skating lessons. <br />Mrs. Nardini asked if any thought has been given to increasing the <br />fees that Recreation charges. The Clerk replied that it was considered <br />some time ago, but fees were not increased because of £amilies with <br />several children participating in programs. <br />3.2 The Little Canada Recreation Association has requested a 3.2 beer <br />Beer license £or a£und-raiaer they are having. <br />License <br />Mr. Aanson introduced the £ollowing resolution and moved its adoption; <br />RN;SOLUTION N0. 82-1-59 - APPROVING A 3.2 BBER LIL'ENSE <br />F'OR THE LSTT E CANADA f2ECNEATION ASSOCIATION FUND NAISER <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. F'orsberg. <br />Ayes (5) Hanson~ I~orsberg~ Fahey, Nardi.ni, Scalze, <br />Nayes (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Hesolution Book No. 8~ Page 34. <br />February 3 Mayor Hanson informed the Council that there would be a Pebruaxy 3 <br />Workshop workshop session of the Council and pointed out the topics that <br />Meeting would be discussed at the session were listed on page 70 in the <br />agenda. <br />Fire Mr. Forsberg expressed concern that a Co~zncilmember in£ormed iir. <br />i~iarshall Locke that he would be assuming the responsibilities of Fire Marshall <br />Yosition Yor the City. <br />tirs. Nardini commented that she told Locke that he may be asked to <br />attend the February 3 session to discuss this situation with the <br />Council and his qualifications for the job. <br />Mr. Forsberg commented that he had a meeting with the Fire Chiefs <br />and they are all in agreement that they would like to have a very <br />close communication with whoever is appointed Fire Marshall, Forsberg <br />suggested that the Fire Chie£ be invited to the February 3 meeting. <br />Mr. F'ahey suggested that Mr. Locke submit a letter to the Council <br />outlining his qualifications £or the position and then the Courzcil <br />would not have to have him attend the meeting, <br />Page -19- <br />
