The resident <br />would have to purchase all materials and the City~s water meter. <br />The City Clerk informed the Council that when a connection is made <br />the City Attorney should be authorized to draw up a joint powers <br />agreement between the two cities, <br />The Engineer s'tated that he will inform the Shoreview Engineer o£ <br />tonight~s discussion and then the City should wait and see how <br />Shoreview will decide to proceed on this. <br />Hoseville The N:ngineer informed the Council that the City of Roseville has <br />Water contacted him regarding an emergency water connection acroas Hi.ce <br />Connections Street between the two cities. lt would consist of a 6 or 8 inch <br />main witn a valve on either side with no meter. <br />Mayor Hanson asked if the City should hold off on this until <br />Rice Stxeet is widened. <br />The Engineer stated that it could be done either way~ but would be <br />better when the road is being worked on, The tingiraeer also stated <br />that the ;area o£ County Road C might be the best location for this <br />line. Mr, Car:ley also felt the cost woul.d be about $10,000 with <br />each city picking up hal£. <br />The Clerk stated that the cost could be covered under the improvement <br />£und. <br />i~Jxs. Scalze asked if the City~s contractor would do the work when the <br />watermain improvement is done on Rice Street, The F.ngineer commented <br />that he would assume so and all that would be necessary is £or a <br />change order to be issued. <br />The City Clerk stated that another joint powers agreement would be <br />drawn up to handle this. <br />Roger Glanzer stated that this connection would serve Little Canada~s <br />whole system, G].anzer also informed the Council that Ftoseville has <br />sirnilar situations with the City of Shoreview and other communiti.es. <br />Mr. Carley informed the Council that the State is proceeding with <br />obtaining the right-of..way it needs on FLice Street £or widening the <br />street. However~ it will be May before they will know i£ they will <br />have the money to proceed with the project, <br />The City will be able to utilize the right-o£-way the State obtains, <br />but will have to get a couple of easements to complete what it needs <br />for the watermain improvement that will be done in the area. <br />Yage -L~b <br />
