MINUTES City Counc9.l April 14, 1982 Keller Yarkway A~enda l.tem No. 19 Dog Litter Yroblem Agenda Item No. 20 Mrs. Nardini commented that Agenda Item Ido, 19 dealt with the drainage problem on ICeller Parkway near Kar].a Lane, The ~ng~.neer stated that the City of Maplewood wi11 be taking care o£ this problem. The Engi.neer stated that he called the City of Maplewood regarding this matter. The City has received a complaint regarding a dog litter problem iz~ the area of the Canabury Square Condominiums. Nirs. Scalze suggested that perhaps the City should be notifying the various homeowners associations in the City about this problem, i~Lr. Hanson also felt that something should be put in the ne*aspaper regarding this. Without objection, tlanson stated that he would do this, Nirs. S~a.lze also stated that Mr. Hanson shoul.d send something to the associations. Hanson agreed. F'ire Mr, Fahey reportea that the City has already entered into a fire service Service contract with the F'ire Department for 1982 and the Fire Cha.ef is satisfied Gontract with this contract. Therefore~ 3.~'ahey suggested that the fire service contract in the agenda be del.eted. iKr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption; R~;SOLUTION V0, f32-4-193 -~E~LTING THE k'IRi: SERVICI; CONTHACT FROM THE GIsNDA The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs, Nardini, Ayes (5) F'ahey, Nardini, Haxison, Scalze, Forsberg. Nayes (0). Resolution declared adopted. This resolution appears in Resolution Book Vo. 8, Yage 139e N1r, Carl Mr. Carl Swarzson appeax•ed before the Council.. ~Ir. Swanson stated that Swanson the comment was made that no one has appeared before the Counci7. to complain about taxes. Nir, Swanson stated that he would like to complain. Non-Agenda Mr. Swansoxz~s taxes were increased by 50~~> Mr. Swanson stated that the Item No. 3 City shoul.d be cutting down and a. lot of times things are just handled business as usual.. Secondly, i~ir, Swanson stated that he was here to complain about tYie hiring of Nir. ~d Locke. Mr, Swanson felt that if the City was to hire a fu].l-ti.me person~ the job should have been advertised and a job descriptaon developed, Mr< Swanson stated that Resol.ution No. a2-4-170 should be rescinded. This is the resolution hiring Mr. Loake. Mr> Swanson stated that he felt the City really hadn~t h9.red Mr. Locke as the hiring was done improparly.
