MINUTES <br />City Counc9.l <br />April 14, 1982 <br />Keller <br />Yarkway <br />A~enda <br />l.tem No. 19 <br />Dog Litter <br />Yroblem <br />Agenda <br />Item No. 20 <br />Mrs. Nardini commented that Agenda Item Ido, 19 dealt with the drainage <br />problem on ICeller Parkway near Kar].a Lane, The ~ng~.neer stated that <br />the City of Maplewood wi11 be taking care o£ this problem. The Engi.neer <br />stated that he called the City of Maplewood regarding this matter. <br />The City has received a complaint regarding a dog litter problem iz~ <br />the area of the Canabury Square Condominiums. <br />Nirs. Scalze suggested that perhaps the City should be notifying the <br />various homeowners associations in the City about this problem, <br />i~Lr. Hanson also felt that something should be put in the ne*aspaper <br />regarding this. Without objection, tlanson stated that he would do <br />this, Nirs. S~a.lze also stated that Mr. Hanson shoul.d send something <br />to the associations. Hanson agreed. <br />F'ire Mr, Fahey reportea that the City has already entered into a fire service <br />Service contract with the F'ire Department for 1982 and the Fire Cha.ef is satisfied <br />Gontract with this contract. Therefore~ 3.~'ahey suggested that the fire service <br />contract in the agenda be del.eted. <br />iKr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption; <br />R~;SOLUTION V0, f32-4-193 -~E~LTING THE k'IRi: SERVICI; <br />CONTHACT FROM THE GIsNDA <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs, Nardini, <br />Ayes (5) F'ahey, Nardini, Haxison, Scalze, Forsberg. <br />Nayes (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book Vo. 8, Yage 139e <br />N1r, Carl Mr. Carl Swarzson appeax•ed before the Council.. ~Ir. Swanson stated that <br />Swanson the comment was made that no one has appeared before the Counci7. to <br />complain about taxes. Nir, Swanson stated that he would like to complain. <br />Non-Agenda Mr. Swansoxz~s taxes were increased by 50~~> Mr. Swanson stated that the <br />Item No. 3 City shoul.d be cutting down and a. lot of times things are just handled <br />business as usual.. <br />Secondly, i~ir, Swanson stated that he was here to complain about tYie <br />hiring of Nir. ~d Locke. Mr, Swanson felt that if the City was to hire <br />a fu].l-ti.me person~ the job should have been advertised and a job <br />descriptaon developed, Mr< Swanson stated that Resol.ution No. a2-4-170 <br />should be rescinded. This is the resolution hiring Mr. Loake. Mr> Swanson <br />stated that he felt the City really hadn~t h9.red Mr. Locke as the <br />hiring was done improparly. <br />The next item Mr. Swanson would like to discuss is the licensing of <br />businesses in the City.
