Nayes (0). . <br />Ordinance decLared adopted. <br />Proposed Mayor Hanson opened the publ.ic hearing on proposed Ordinance No. 183 <br />Ordinance which is the proposed amendment of the Little Canada zoni.ng ordinance <br />No. 183 - to permit freestanding si.gns to be located within five feet of the <br />Signs property line. <br />Agenda Mr. Forsberg introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />Item No. 12 <br />RESOLUTION N0. 82-5-297 - CLOSING TI{E PU~LIC <br />HEAKING ON PKOPOSED ORDINANCE N0. 183 <br />The foregoing resoLution was duly seconded by Mr. Hanson. <br />Ayes (5) Forsberg, Hanson, Scalze, Nardini, Fahey. <br />Nayes (0). <br />ResoluCion declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 8, Page 249. <br />The City Pl.anner stated that he recommended the amendment to the zoning <br />code to permit fr.eestanding signs within five f.eet oE the property line <br />rather Chan 15 as currently required under the City code. <br />Mr. Porsberg introduced the f.olLowing ordinance and moved its adoption: <br />ORDINANCE N0. 183 - AMENDING SECTION 903.110 E. S.c (1) <br />AND (2) ALLOWING BUSZNESS SIGNS TO BE LOCATEll CLOSER <br />TO PROPERTY LINES AND PARKING AREAS <br />'Che foregoing ordinance was duly seconded by Mr. Fahey. <br />Ayes (4) Forsberg, Fahey, Hanson, Nardini. <br />Nayes (1) ScaLze. <br />Ordinance declared adopted. <br />Mrs. ScaLze informed the Council that she opposed this ordinance as <br />there may be a situation where a property line is Located in the middl.e <br />of the street. <br />Mr. Forsberg stated that in that case the sign woul.d have to be located <br />five feet from the right-of-way. <br />The Planner stated that this type of situation is covered under definition <br />oP a Lot line. In this type of situation the property line would become <br />the street or alley right-of-way. <br />Mrs. Scalze commented that a right-of-way line could be in the middle of <br />the street. Mr.s. Scalze commented in Che case of Noe1 Drive, the right- <br />of-way line is in the middle of. the street. <br />Page -19- <br />
