MINUT~S City Council Nov. 15, 19~2 Vi.k~i.ng The Pl.anner. commented that he felt that the elevation of the property Partnership could be gr.ounds Lor a vari.ance. Under the ordinance the pylon on Signs (ConC.) Minnesota could only be 16 feet high. Mrs. Scalze stated that the pylon could be seen east and west. Mr. ~rody stated that there :i.s at least a 10 to 15 f9ut drop in elevation f.rom Rice Street to Minnesota. Mrs. Scalze stated that she ciid not agree with the request. ~rs. Scalze stated that the Mall can noC be viewed from all streets. The Planner stated Chat under the ordinance the pylon on Viki.ng Drive could consist of 200 square feet. Mr. Pahey sCated that he thoughC the Ci.ty was trying to accommodate the developers as much as possible. t4rs. Scalze pointed out that the P9a11 has a Lot of avertising with Cub located right across the street. Mr. ~rody aslced if the Council would be receptive to averaging out the sizes of the two pylons. Mr. Flanson staT.ed that he would Lilce the Planner's imput. Mrs. Nardini sCated that this was another request on the part of Vilcing Partner.ship. Mr. Brody r.eplied that. i.t was di.scussed at a Planning Commi.ssion meeti.ng. Mr. tianson suggested that Mr. Brody come in to the Council with another request. Pina1 Note Mrs. Nardini r.eported that Mr. Lee is complying coi[h the request of Resolution the City in accordance with the Planner's report. Mrs. Nardi.ni. Stoneri<ige staled that the ~ui.ldin~ Inspector and Planner were satisfied with Assoc. the progress. Mrs. Nardini pointed out that should any problems arise, the certi.ficate of occupancy can be withheld. Agenda Items No. 5& 6 Plrs.
