Scalze poi.nted out that there could be bi.ngo operati.ng 4 ni~;hts <br />a weelc ~i.n the City. <br />The City Attorney statect that if. the C:ity Uans bi.ngo, it rnust be <br />banned for. the P~.ire Department also. <br />Mr. Pahey aslced iE the C~i.ty allo~oed bi.ngo for the L'ire Department, if <br />it couLd put restrictions on other or£;ani.zati.ons. Pahey felt that <br />bingo shoul.d not be all.owed at the I3rinkman Flall the same night as <br />the ~ise Department has their bi.ngo because of the locati.ons of <br />the two esCablishments and the resulting traffic problem. <br />Mrs, Scalze stated that the people on Schietty Drive wil.1 not 1i1ce <br />another bingo hall.. Scalze st:aY.ed that she di.<l not want Li.tCle Canada <br />to become a b:i.ngo capitol and she di.d not want to see Uingo operated <br />four ni.ghts per ~veelc in the Cicy. <br />The Attor.ney s[ated Chat the City could set a f.i.gure of less than <br />f.our bingo occasions per coeelc. The Attorney pointed out that tlie <br />Ci.Cy cannot give the Pi:e Dep~rtment ri.~hts thaC no one else has. <br />Mr.. Porsberg stated tl~a[ the Ci.ty could allow bingo 52 ni.ghts per <br />year to an appl.icant, but on a d:iff.erenC ni.ght than the Pir.e Department <br />operates theis bingo. <br />The AtCOrney sCated that the Qi.ty cannot say it i.s not economical <br />to operate Cwo bingo estabLishments across th2 street fr.om each oCher <br />on the. same ni.ght. <br />Mr. Forsberg poi.nted out that the Brinkman H211 can say that it has <br />enough parlcing and the Pire Department does not. <br />Mr. Fahey commented that he clid not f.eel Che City would be talcen to <br />court on this. <br />Mr. Pahey pointed out, that the Council. previousl.y di.scussed a <br />restrictive provision in the PUD agreement re~;ardi.n~; bi.ngo. 'Che Planner stated thac he just ~ot the Legal descript:i.on <br />for r.he property. <br />Mrs. Scal.ze su~;gested that this be handl.ed i.n the PIJll Agreement. Mr.s. <br />Scalze r.ead from prev.i.ous Council meeting minut~si.n whi.ch the Attorney <br />stated that thi.s coul.d be done. <br />t4r.
