~rNUTrs <br />C~ity Council <br />L'eb. 9, 19g3 <br />Aingo (Cont.) The Ci.ty Attorney reported that under Statute 349.17 Subdivision 7 <br />it says that the City can waive the requisement of: a f.i.deli.ty bond <br />for a bi.ngo license. <br />Mr. Fahey f:el.t that the bond should be waived in t:he case of the <br />Pire De~arCment and asked i.f the apPl:ication form provided for <br />a wai.ver of bond. <br />The ACtorney suggested that the bond should be waived by a unanymous <br />vote of the counci.l. <br />Council deci.ded to table acti.on on the Pi.re Department bingo 1i.cense <br />unti.l the next Council ineeti.ng when the Mayor can be present at that <br />meeti.ng. <br />Mr. Pahey introduced the LoLlowing resolution and moved its adopti.on: <br />RESOLUTION ~0. 83-2-60 - TAI~LLNG AC'LiON <br />ON THP PIRE DEPARTMENT BINGO LIQPNSP UNTII, <br />THE NEXT RPGULAR COUNCIL MEFTING <br />The forego:in,c resoluti.on was duly seconded by Mr. Porsb~r<;. <br />Ayee (4) Pahey, Porsber~, Nar<ti.n~i., Scalze. <br />Nayes (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resol.ution appcars i.n Resolution ]3oolc No. 9, Page 67_. <br />Sewer & Roger Glanzer r.eported thaC ~9etro sewer has i.ncreased its charges to <br />Water f~udget the City by 33% anci the charges f.or the Phalen Overf.l.ow ha ve been <br />19II3 increased to T.he Ci.ty in the amount of. 135%. ~(r.. Glanzer reported <br /> that the Ci.ty's maintenance costs ar e bei.n~; projected wi.th a 10% <br />Agenda i.ncrease. <br />Item No. 15 <br /> Mr. Pahey commented that the Ci.ty is being gouged by MeCro Sewer. <br />Mrs. Nardini. expressed extreme dissati.sfaction in t:he increase Eor <br />the Phalen overflow matter. <br />Mr. GLanzer reported that the Ci.ty i.s working with an $£30,000 def.ici.t <br />fr.om 10 years prior i.n t:he water portion of the budget. This was <br />due to when the City fir,~ started i.n the water business as the city <br />had ~ great deal of costs that wer~ not cover.ed. Glanzer commented <br />that, hopefully, in about 8 years time that defi.ci.T. wi.11. be covered. <br />Mr. Glan2er pointed out the ~oater l.oss for ].982. Glanzer stated <br />that this was due to the amount of. watermain constructi.on duri.ng the <br />year as the new lines needed to be filled and fl.ushed. There is no <br />way Co meter. th:i.s amount of water. The water Loss was also due to <br />watermain breaks. Mr. Forsberg commented that the Uti.lity Department <br />projects thi.s fi~;ure to be Uetter next year< <br />Pap,e -12- <br />
